The Halifax Cricket League resumes after a pause last weekend for the Deonarine Cup, and we have all 3 of our teams in action.
Sagar Mandan's Div 1 lineup gets us underway on Saturday at 11.30am, against an ECCC team that we tied with just last weekend. Our lineup is much the same as we used this season to date, with the additions of Saravana Kumar Chandran to take the gloves in his Cannons Div 1 debut, and Matt Webb coming back into the lineup to bolster the middle order.
Div 3 plays Titans on Saturday at 5pm, with skipper Souvik Mitra returning to take the reins after missing the first game. Notable selections include new recruit Gurpreet Sidhu for his first game for the Cannons, and club favourite Abhilash Chandran making a comeback to give us a frontline spinner. The team is eager to bounce back from their opening round loss.
On Sunday, Div 2 will look to build upon their first up win as they face Titans. Hassan Hafeez will get a chance to show his keeping skills, while Jawad Naimat and Harman Singh are rewarded for good first games in Div 3 with an opportunity to test themselves in Div 2. Danish Khan will add strength to the top order, and we can expect to see our spin trio again play a key role.
