The Cannons are into the Div 2 Final for the 3rd time in 4 years after a great semi final win over East Coast Cricket Club. Batting first, scoring proved tough with a wet field and heavy atmosphere preventing us from hitting our first boundary until the 13th over. Skipper Dhruv Mohta top scored with 28 while Jaideep Singh provided his trademark late fireworks with 18 from 9 balls. All out in 19 overs for 109, a low score but one we were confident in defending after successfully doing so only a few weeks back against the same team.
They took 11 off our first over, but Hiren Patel removed their main bat in his first over, a great running catch from Kevin Tuvar. This would be the first of 9 wickets from our spin trio, with Hiren, Kevin and Nihar Shah all taking 3 each. Revant Sharan took the other wicket in a tight spell, and later added a tough high catch to his outing. Good catching was the theme of our fielding effort, with the skipper adding one of his own and Jaideep taking 2 on the rope at long on. Even a short rain delay would have no impact, ECCC all out for 72, 33 runs short of the revised target of 105. Scorecard
